What is Physiotherapy ?

Physiotherapy Explained
The main aim of physiotherapy is to restore function. The Physiotherapists at Coventry Physiotherapy Centre assess and diagnose the problem, then plan and administer treatment programs that aim to restore function or minimise dysfunction after disease or injury. A combination of manual and exercise therapies are used to achieve this. Advice on posture and ergonomics is always provided aiming for the prevention of further injury or dysfunction.
At Albany Coventry Physiotherapy all our physiotherapists are chartered and registered with the Health Professions Council. This guarantees that their qualification is properly recognised, they are governed by a professional code of conduct and they are covered by professional liability insurance.
We treat a wide range of conditions, ranging from lower back, neck and shoulder problems to sports injuries and pains in arms and legs. Some problems are related to long working hours and /or poor posture, which strain the spine. We treat a full complement of sports injuries for both amateur and professional athletes. With many years' of experience in private physiotherapy practice specialising in sports injuries and work-related conditions we cater for all age groups. Where necessary, patients are referred to local GP's and specialists for further assessment. Some physiotherapy patients have recurrent problems and other may present with injuries that are more acute.
At Albany, all patients undergo a thorough assessment prior to physiotherapy treatment to identify the exact nature of the injury and what underlying factors could contribute to the pain. Treatment is based on accurate manipulation of the affected area to gain rapid pain relief. Re-training of muscles following an injury is essential, and we provide exercises aimed at restoring good posture to minimise the risk of re-occurrence: A good posture also helps you to achieve the look of a healthy and well-balanced body.
