Health Insurance Cash Plans
Most of the treatments at Albany Health Clinic Coventry can be offered by private medical insurance companies and cash plan providers. Private medical insurance will in most cases cover the cost of your physiotherapy and chiropody / podiatry treatment. This is because:
- The physiotherapists at Albany Health Clinic Coventry are registered with the Health Professions Council (formerly known as State Registered Physiotherapist) and members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Only physiotherapists with this status can offer their patients this benefit.
- The podiatrist / chiropodist at Albany chiropody clinic Coventry are registered with the Health Prof. Council (formerly know as State Registered Chiropodists). They are also members of the Society of Chiropodists & Podiatrists. Only Chiropodists / Podiatrists with this status can work in the NHS and offer patients this benefit.
If you have medical insurance you may be able to claim back some or all of the costs of physiotherapy treatment so long as you follow the procedures set out by your insurer.
The following tips may help you to make a Health Care Insurance claim:
- Contact your health insurance company and check that you are covered for physiotherapy treatment of the condition you have and how many treatment sessions are available under your cover.
- Obtain the required claim forms and/or authorisation codes from your insurer.
Ask your insurer if you need a GP referral. If so make and attend an appointment with your GP. Describe your condition to them and ask them to write you a letter of referral for physiotherapy treatment.
- Make sure your physiotherapist / podiatrist is aware of your insurance and is given any authorisation codes associated with your claim.
In most cases Albany Physiotherapy / Podiatry will bill your insurer directly following your programme of treatments.
